What kind of volunteer opportunities do you have?
We're always looking for folks to help out weekly on Sundays, be it with music, as a greeter (extra important with COVID-19 measures) or for special events! Whatever you gifts we have a place for you in our community.
-
Can I get high school community service hours for volunteer?
Absolutely! St. John's has a long history of hosting high school students looking to gain community service hours. We appreciate however much time you can offer us, whether it's for a one-off activity or on a regular basis.
-
What do I need to volunteer?
During COVID-19, for any non-worship service activities a vaccine passport is required. For those volunteering directly with children a police records check is required (at no cost to the volunteer).

How can I donate?
There are a few ways to donate:
- You can drop donations off at the church when you come by using our secure dropbox on the back table.
- Give monthly through Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR). It's an automatic monthly withdrawal from your bank account. To set it up, complete the PAR Authorization Form and give it to the Finance Committee ([email protected], or drop forms off at the church).
- Give online by visiting CanadaHelps.org. It's a secure site, used by hundreds of Canadian charities. You can make both one-time and scheduled donations.
-
What type of donations do you accept?
We accept monetary donations, but also appreciate the talents and treasures you bring to our ministry! Volunteer hours are just as valuable as financial gifts. We will also occasional make call-outs for donations of particular items through out e-announcements.
-
Is there a tax deduction for donations?
As a registered charity St. John's United is able to provide charitable receipts at the end of the year. For more information about chairtable giving and your taxtes visit the Government of Canada.
