Throwback Thursday: Historic moment for LGBTQ Community in Marathon

Pastor Tori • Dec 16, 2021

This small act was one more step in our journey as an affirming ministry, and our commitment to being Public, Intentional and Explicit (PIE) in our support of our LGBTQ+ siblings.

On June 14th, 2021, members of St. John's helped to raised a pride flag at the Marathon town hall for the first time ever for Pride Month (June). Big thank you to Barb McGill, Chair of our Board, who made the request to the Town Council and provided the flag.

The flag we chose to fly is a Progressive Pride flag which includes black and brown stripes for Black, Indigenous and People of Colour, as well as light blue, pink and white for Transgender folks.
